Field Visit – Wadi Al-Tout Dam (Bir Ayyat Reserve).
The Libyan Society for Birds (LSB) recently visited Wadi Al-Tout Dam in the Bir Ayyat Reserve to check on bird activity in the area’s wetlands.
The team regularly returns to sites like this to keep track of bird populations and update their records. This kind of fieldwork plays an important role in protecting wildlife and understanding how species are doing over time.
The visit was done in cooperation with the Zoology Department at the University of Tripoli, bringing together fieldwork and academic research.
During the visit, the team recorded different kinds of waterbirds and land-based birds, adding useful information to the national database.
LSB says it will continue these visits as part of its long-term efforts to protect birds and their habitats across the country.
