Workshop on the Status of Waterbird Counts in MWN Member Countries on the Sidelines of AEWA MOP9.
As part of the activities accompanying the 9th Meeting of the Parties (MOP9) of the African-Eurasian Migratory Waterbirds Agreement (AEWA), held from 11 to 14 November 2025 in Bonn, Germany, a workshop titled “Status of Waterbird Counts in the Mediterranean Waterbird Network (MWN) Member Countries and Key Developments” was held on Thursday, 13 November 2025.
The workshop was organized with the support and supervision of the Tour du Valat Center, and presentations were delivered by Ms. Laura Dami, Network Coordinator, and Prof. Khaled Etayeb, President of the Libyan Society for Birds.
The workshop provided a comprehensive overview of all practical and scientific activities conducted by the network and its partners in Mediterranean countries, as well as highlighting the key achievements since the network’s establishment up to the preparation of country reports for the 2019–2023 period.
