Libyan Society for Birds

Founded in 2011 with the aim of studying, monitoring, and counting birds in Libya, the Libyan Society for Bird’s main goal is to protect birds and their habitats. The society also focuses on raising environmental awareness about birds and their ecosystems, especially endangered species. Since its establishment, the society has been responsible for conducting the winter waterbird census in Libya to this day. The society also celebrates and organizes all environmental occasions, such as World Environment Day, World Migratory Bird Day, World Wetlands Day, and National Biodiversity Day. Additionally, the Libyan Bird Society collaborates with some national entities on bird- and wetland-related programs, such as the Avian Influenza Prevention Program, and participates in various volunteer activities with local associations across different municipalities in Libya.
