A Coordination Meeting for the Protection of Farwa Lake and Island.
A meeting with stakeholders in the Fawra area was held on Monday, 28 December 2020, in coordination with Bado Society for the protection of marine and terrestrial life, the Libyan Society for Birds, and the Libyan Society of Artisanal Fishery Friends. The meeting was part of the program for the protection and conservation of Fawra Lake and Island (Fawra Reserve) and the implementation of projects funded by the Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF).
The meetings started at the Zuwara Municipal Council, where the council confirmed its full support and commitment to the associations working on the project and encouraged such environmental initiatives.
The second session was held at the Bado Society headquarters, attended by representatives from the Fishermen’s Union, the Agriculture and Marine Resources sectors, and the reserve management. Participants emphasized the importance of joint cooperation to conserve the natural resources of the Fawra area and began preparations for organizing workshops related to the projects.
The environmental associations expressed their sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of these meetings, especially Bado Society for hosting them, the Zuwara Municipal Council for their warm reception and support, and the representatives of relevant authorities for their spirit of cooperation and positive engagement.
