World Migratory Bird Day 2020 Celebration at the University of Tripoli.
With the grace of God, on Wednesday, 10 October 2020, a celebration was held for World Migratory Bird Day, which is observed twice a year (9 May and 10 October). The event was organized by the Libyan Society for Birds in collaboration with the Department of Zoology – Faculty of Science, University of Tripoli, the Libyan Association of Friends of Traditional Hunting, and the General Environmental Authority, under this year’s theme: “Birds Connect Our World.”
The program included an introduction to World Migratory Bird Day, a presentation on the study and census of wintering waterbirds in Libya, as well as a presentation on the Libyan Society of Artisanal Fishery Friends and the Marine Biodiversity Monitoring Network. The celebration concluded with the announcement of the formation of the Libyan Nature Associations Union.
