Launch of the winter Waterbird Census Program 2021 in Libya.
The 17th Winter Waterbird Survey Program in Libya was launched on Thursday, 14 January 2021, marking the seventeenth consecutive edition of this national effort.
The program aims to monitor the numbers, species, and distribution of migratory waterbirds across Libya’s wetlands, as part of efforts to track environmental changes and assess the status of these vital ecosystems.
This survey forms a key component of scientific initiatives to build an accurate database that supports future planning for bird conservation and the protection of their natural habitats.
The Libyan Society for Birds, along with all program partners, wishes success in collecting the most comprehensive results and data for this year.
